Biography
Jess Shollenberger specializes in queer studies, LGBTQ+ literature, modernist literature, and poetry and poetics. Their current scholarship is focused on the lesbian novel, queer friendship, and domesticity in queer inquiry. Their first book, Ordinary Queerness in American Modernism, is forthcoming from Ohio State University Press in October 2025. They are co-editor of a critical volume of essays on queer domesticity, under contract with Palgrave Macmillan. Their scholarly articles have appeared in College Literature, South Atlantic Review, Jacket2, and Modernism/modernity Print Plus. They teach courses on queer theory, American poetry, literary modernism, autobiography and memoir, and everyday life in literature.
